Weigh in *shrug*

So I've been predicting it all week, and I'm right. I put on a pound this week. But, you know what, meh. I don't mind so much. I have been working my ass off this week. My muscles are damn sore from the work I've been putting in- and the soreness is good. I'm doing well with my weight training, I'm increasing the calisthenics, my home based cardio is pretty good, and the running, while I can't seem to get past 4.5km, is still happening- three times a week.

And my diet hasn't been that bad this week either. Last night, as predicted, I went to Pride party at a friends house, and there was a glorious cold spread. I stuck to healthy options, and, sure, I overate, but not half as much as I did in the past, and it was a party. So I'm not worried about it.

I guess I'm just accepting that weight loss is a bit of a cycle, where weight falls off one week, increases the next and stays steady the week after that. My weight loss is still going downward in the trend, so this weeks little gain is just a little break I'm giving my body til next week when I know that the scales will report a nice little loss.

All that extra muscle is pretty heavy too don't forget! You're thinking right ... it is the big picture that counts ... there will be ups and downs!

Sounds like you had a really good week besides, and you've got a great attitude about it. Continued success :)

Great attitude! It's definitely a long term process and as long as the trend is downwards life is to be celebrated.

and the more weights you do the slower your SCALE LOSS WILL BE but the better your clothes will fit, your body fat will lessen/you'll be down inches and you will have much more energy.

telling you what you know? yes :)

but knowing that we all at times need a repeat? fo'shizzle.

Like FLG said, sounds like you had a really good, active week so perhaps that extra pound is muscle?

Even if it is muscle, that extra muscle will now help shift more of the fat, so the scale will come back down again.

best wishes,
Sharon

The scale is a simple representation of what is a complex object. That muscle soreness? That's a sign that you're pushing your body in ways it's never been pushed before. THAT, my friend, is real progress. And for that, I congratulate you. :-)
